ACM INTERNATIONAL COLLEGIATE PROGRAMMING CONTEST
1. The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM ICPC) is a multitier, team based, programming competition operating under the auspices of ACM, headquartered at Baylor University and sponsored by IBM, Infosys and Directi.
2. The contest involves a global network of universities hosting regional competitions that advance teams to the ACM ICPC World Finals. The contest fosters creativity, team work and innovation in building new software programs and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure. It is the oldest, largest and most prestigious programming contest in the world. Students from premier institutions like IIT, IIIT, NITs etc compete in this programming contest at Amritapuri alongwith foreign students from China, Korea, Srilanka etc.
3. The programming languages of the contest will include C/C++/Java. The contest is scheduled on 11th and 12th Dec 2010. Preliminary round, Online Contest is scheduled on 17 Oct 10. Details on registration process and more information about the contest is available at http://amrita.edu.icpc/.
4. A poster is displayed on placement notice board. Students are required to go through the above mentioned website and register for the Contest. There is no registration fee.
